Each year, MDU Construction Services Group honors several employees for contributions at work and in the community through its corporate awards program. Following is a summary of the 2021 award winners.
Community Spirit Award
MDU Construction Services Group awarded its 2021 Community Spirit Award to Tina in Bismarck, North Dakota. Tina volunteered 740+ hours on a local ambulance crew in 2021 and volunteers at her church. She participates in many community outreach events, including the Great American Bike Race, Rebuilding Together and AARC Hope for the Holidays.
The Community Spirit Award recognizes employees for their community involvement.
Summit Award
MDU Construction Services Group awarded its 2021 Summit Award to Denise at OEG in Portland, Oregon. Denise led an initiative to improve diversity and inclusion. She assembled a strong leadership group and created an environment of trust and candid communication, leading to discussions around opportunities for change and growth throughout the company.
The Summit Award honors employees who have achieved significant results in making their companies better places to work.
Einstein Award
CSG awarded its 2021 Einstein Award to John and Mike at Bombard Mechanical in Las Vegas. They worked together to provide solutions on a challenging design-assist project. The person who nominated them said they delighted the customer with unique, custom finishes that set Bombard Mechanical apart from its local competitors. Their efforts provided cost savings and avoided costly schedule delays.
The Einstein Award recognizes the best-of-the-best process improvement ideas that have contributed in a measurable way to improving the company’s bottom line and that are vital to the company’s success.
Environmental Sustainability Award
Ron and Ben with Loy Clark Construction in Tualatin, Oregon, won CSG’s 2021 Environmental Sustainability Award. They lead Loy Clark’s horizontal directional drilling division. The company has been a leader in the HDD industry in the Portland Metro area for nearly four decades. HDD provides benefits not only for the customer but also for the environment.
The Environmental Sustainability Award recognizes individuals, teams, divisions and companies for projects and activities that advance the corporation’s progress in reducing and minimizing environmental impacts.
