Safety culture
Safety is part of everything we do; it’s who we are. Every task we take on, every project we build, is centered on doing it safely. Our people are the core of our company and we are devoted to sending them home safely every day.
Human Performance Improvement
Through HPI training, we work with enhanced situational awareness to be in the moment and be sure we clearly understand the conditions of the task at hand. Our employees are trained to have a questioning attitude in planning and prep stages as well as at the activity level to avoid assumptions.
ET&D Partnership
MDU Construction Services Group is a member of the Electrical Transmission & Distribution Partnership, a nationwide collaboration with OSHA dedicated to reducing injuries and fatalities in the line construction industry. Many of our employees are active participants on the Partnership’s committees and task teams.

Community and camaraderie
Our success is rooted in our employees, and our employees are rooted in the communities where they live and work. Their volunteerism and generosity support countless nonprofit organizations that better the lives of others, including children’s hospitals, food pantries, educational programs and disaster recovery groups.
Recognizing excellence
Our annual awards program recognizes employees for a spirit of volunteerism, making the company a better place to work, best-of-the-best process improvement ideas that contribute in a measurable way to the bottom line, and using natural resources efficiently and minimizing environmental impact. Three of the four prizes include a contribution to a charity of the winner’s choice.
