FedEx Ground’s new 450,000-square-foot hub is a massive facility on a network of 1,700 piles driven 65 feet into the ground. It also created a system of inlets, catch basins and underground storm drain pipes to treat runoff water leaving the site. The package processing facility features advanced material-handling technology that moves packages at 540 feet per minute along nearly 15 miles of conveyor belts, processing up to 22,500 packages per hour.
