First Solar Moapa

Bombard Electric performed the balance of systems for the second half of the First Solar project on the Moapa River Indian Reservation north of Las Vegas.

Lone Mountain Excavation performed the excavation and back fill of all electrical lines totaling approximately 82,000 lineal feet, as well as back fill around existing large electrical junction vaults. Lone Mountain also drilled and installed 497 combiner posts, and performed final grading around the solar arrays.

The utility-scale solar project is generating a total of 250 megawatts on a 2,000-acre site and includes an on-site substation and a new five-and-a-half-mile transmission line connecting the site to customers in California.
